What is Vaser Liposuction?
Vaser Liposuction® High Definition is a new, state-of-the-art ultrasound liposuction technology that selectively targets fat tissue. It liquefies the fat to facilitate its removal. Because of its selective action, other tissues such as blood vessels and nerves are unaffected, thus reducing pain and inflammation after the procedure. It is an alternative to the harsh techniques of traditional liposuction because it leaves untouched the tissues that should not be treated.
Furthermore, it is powerful enough to remove large areas of fat and gentle enough to treat more delicate areas. It defines the body contour better than traditional liposuction and provides greater skin retraction for smoother results. It can treat multiple areas in a single procedure.
Vaser liposuction procedure
During the procedure, the treatment area is filled with a tumescent solution, and the fat cells are treated with state-of-the-art ultrasound energy (Vaser) that liquefies them. Once the fat is liquefied, it is suctioned out using a cannula inserted through small incisions in the skin, removing all the unwanted fat tissue.
This layer of fat is composed of fat cells, vascular tissue, and connective tissue. However, the surrounding tissues are left intact, resulting in more defined sculpting, less pain, and a better recovery compared to traditional liposuction. After the surgery, the patient is fitted with a compression garment.

2. Ideal candidates for Vaser Liposuction® High Definition are not highly overweight or obese. Better results are achieved on patients with good skin quality. Excessive smoking may affect final results.
3. Vaser Liposuction® High Definition can sculpt multiple areas in one single procedure. Jowls, chin and neck, chest, arms, abs, hips and flanks, back, thighs, knees, calves and ankles.
During the first consultation, we will assess which areas we want to define. A detailed medical history is taken, including personal habits.
The body areas to be treated, the skin quality and muscle tone are examined. We will discuss the degree of definition we want to achieve (soft, medium or high definition). We’ll talk you through the different surgical techniques and technology we use, and which options are best for each patient. We always like to clarify why we choose one technique over another for each individual.
For overweight patients, our Nutrition and Dietetics Unit will assess and monitor them to help them reach the weight and body fat percentage that Dr Jordi Mir requires for surgery.

During the healing process, the skin retracts to leave a natural result.
You will need to wear specially designed binder for two months.
